JOOM KLANGSIN
was born in 1973 and grew up in Bangkok, Thailand. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Silpakorn University. During her four years at Silpakorn, Joom spent time teaching children at the children's art school. After graduating in 1995, Joom became a graphic designer for the company 711 in Bangkok. Then in 1996, she came to the U.S. to study graphic design at the Academy of Arts College, San Francisco. In 1998, Joom returned to Thailand to work with her father, who owns a shoe company. There she worked as a shoe designer and as a production manager.

After getting married in 2002, Joom moved back to San Francisco, where she currently lives and works on her paintings. Finding inspiration in the environment and the world around her, Joom uses her intuitive and humorous imagination to create a uniquely surreal pop world in her paintings. Her style is full of color and unique shapes that she considers to be "insane." Artists that Joom admires include Joe Sorren and Mark Ryden, as well as outsider artists and painters who are mentally challenged.
